Never mind the rain, it's good for the grass :-(

 

OK - so the UK's just had it's wettest April-June period on record. That's a lot of water. I trust the phrase 'hosepipe ban' won't be uttered in the UK until after the Olympics - the next Olympics that is - not London.

But it's good for the grass. And when Cows, Sheep and Goats graze on luscious grass they produce luscious milk that in turn makes luscious cheese - award-winning luscious cheese.

Of course, the cheeses produced in France are arguably the best in the world - it's what they do, they make world class cheese - but the British cheeses have come on in leaps and bounds over the past few years and we even now have the British Cheese Awards to celebrate and recognise the best producers.

There you are - every cloud (of which there are many) has a silver lining! Indeed, those artisan cheese producers are probably rubbering their hands together...
